  • Story: By exposure through old “Kung Fu” and Jean-Claude Van Dam films, the Chicago native, Marjorie Santos, as a child, was inspired to learn the Martial Arts. She had self taught herself as a child by ways of watching films and instructional videos. But it wasn’t until at the age of 14 where she was formally introduced to the Martial Arts. Right after Marjorie and her family had relocated to Las Vegas in 1995, Marjorie and her brother were enrolled in Taekwondo. Marjorie had achieved her 1st degree Black Belt in April of 1997. Marjorie had continued her Taekwondo career all throughout her high school years, by devoting her time to the Dojang (Korean for “dojo”) everyday. In the year 2000, Marjorie had left Las Vegas to go to College in the Philippines and pursue her degree in Physical Therapy. Marjorie’s martial arts career never ended after high school. She continued to pursue Martial Arts while in the Philippines. She participated in various disciplines such as Shotokan karate-do, Kickboxing, Boxing, Escrima and Capoiera. In 2005, Marjorie had graduated from college and returned to Las Vegas. Marjorie continued training in Taekwondo and in Capoiera as well. A year later, Marjorie was introduced to MMA from video taping her friends’ MMA workouts. Marjorie intrigued by the workout and decided to partake in the workouts. Soon after, Marjorie had found an ad for a Front Desk Job at Fight Club Las Vegas. She was later hired. Currently, Marjorie is studying for her Physical Therapy Licensure exam and occasionally trains in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Taekwondo. Once licensed, she plans on training more often and hopes to compete in amateur events.
